Artist's Description

Lincoln related statues can be found along the Connecticut River Walk in Hartford. This one commemorates the meeting of President Abraham Lincoln and Hartford resident Harriet Beecher Stowe, the author of a novel credited with encouraging opposition to slavery. They met in Washington, D.C. in 1862. Shown here is the upper portion of the 2006 sculpture by Bruno Lucchesi titled, Lincoln Meets Stowe. It is part of the Lincoln Financial Sculpture Walk. In this Image, I've tried to approximate the look of a 19th century print.
