Artist's Description
Artwork is a line drawing produced in 1886. It shows details of a painting found in an ancient Egyptian tomb at Thebes. A group of women are seated apart from the men at the celebration. A woman on the left serves the seated women. The drawing showing a scene of daily life clarifies a fragment of a tomb paintings found at the Egyptian site. The fragile ancient fragment itself is held by the British Museum. This 1886 rendition superbly clarifies the details of the ancient painting.
