Presented with a blue mat edging, this is a reproduction of a 1883 advertisement that appeared in Puck for a device that is now regarded as an example of quackery. Electricity in the late 19th century was thought by many to have curative powers. The ad asks anyone interested in becoming an agent for Dr. Scott's products to mention Puck. This so-called electropathic belt sold for $300. The ad contained endorsements and money back promise. Vintage advertisement that appeared in Puck Magazine in 1883 promoting a health device. Puck was a humor magazine published from 1871 until 1918, but this cure-all advertisement was real.
