Description
In this composition, I've photographed the sculpture Nydia by Randolph Rogers (1825/-1892) against a background.
The sculpture depicts a blind young female with her hand raised to her ear. She is escaping from Pompeii. It was inspired by Lord Edward Bulwer-Lytton’s novel The Last Days of Pompeii (1834).
Sculpture credit. Title of work: Nydia by Randolph Rogers. Brooklyn Museum, New York. BrooklynMuseum.org. Photographed at the Brooklyn Museum (5th floor)
