Description
Here is a restored reproduction of a 1901 advertisement with a blue mat border. It marketed a corset for mothers that supposedly did not cinch the waist too tightly. The corset shown has buttons. The Ferris Bros. corset did not use whale bone or metal stays. The Ferris Bros. Company introduced versions for children. Advertisement for corsets features a mother and daughter. The adult models a Ferris Bros. corset, a product promoted as healthier than prior kinds of corsets.
