This 19th century illustration depicting military uniforms of the rebellious Confederate States is from a book no longer under copyright. It was digitally restored and rendered suitable for display and other uses.
The image is from A History of the United States and its People: For the Use of Schools by Eggleston, Edward. Published in 1888. From page 306.
Left to right: North Carolina Militia, Regimental Infantry Private, Washington Artillery, Montgomery True Blue, Field Officer of Infantry, General Robert E. Lee in his uniform, Regimental Cavalry Private, Louisiana Tiger, Louisiana Zouave, Regimental Artillery Private.
